And I call myself a writer...

Okay, so obviously I've been beyond bad at keeping up on here. In a nutshell: We're all a little older, all still alive. The end.

Well, not the end. I've been feeling the urge to actually do better at this. I need to write; it's just part of who I am. And yet, the novel is still stalled at the 5000 or so words it has been almost since I started it almost 15 years ago. (That's FIFTEEN years. Not believable, and yet, true.) The story is there in my head, jumbling around with two other solid ones and several more wisps. But why don't I write?

Fear. I am nothing if not chicken. Fear that I can't make it long enough to actually be a novel. Fear that people will not like the plot, or the characters, or my vocabulary The few people whom I've actually had the nerve to show it to like it, but they are my friends, so they don't count. (No offense, friends. You know what I mean.)

At any rate, maybe if I just make some time to write something (in other words, this blog) on a fairly regular basis, I will get some courage.

So here we go.

Funny I was just noting to myself the other day that you hadn't written in a while and wondering when you'd decide to put up the next "yearly update." ;)

I hear you with the writing too...I do a lot, but it's mostly blogging and various imternet forums...I really need to get back to creative writing ...

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate the Most Merciful.

Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]."
O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?
Here you are - those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows, while you know not.
Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah]. And he was not of the polytheists.
Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to Allah] and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message]. And Allah is the ally of the believers.
A faction of the people of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they perceive [it] not.
O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while you witness [to their truth]?
